Kory Hottel is the Traverse Operations Manager for the Antarctic Support Contract. He started as a seasonal contract employee in 2002 working at the South Pole Station as a welder. Since then, he has worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, and then completed four traverses to the South Pole, leading 2 of them before becoming the Manager. Kory enjoys the challenge of assembling the teams each season, preparing them for their expedition, and supporting each team while they are in the field. Another big part of the traverse’s success is keeping up with new technology and incorporating it into their daily tasking. Throughout his career, Kory has been able to embrace change and build solid teams to accomplish complex goals.
