Biography

Dr. Tyler Robert Jones received a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 2006, a M.Sc. in Environmental Studies 
in 2010, and a Ph.D. in Biogeochemistry in 2015, all from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Currently, 
Tyler is a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research in Boulder. His current research 
focuses on polar ice cores, the interpretation of climate change from stable water isotopes, and abrupt climate change on human timescales. During his time at CU, Tyler has conducted research primarily at the Light Stable Isotope Lab. He has also taught two undergraduate classes as Instructor of Record: Climate Change Filmmaking 
and Environmental Monitoring in an Era of Global Change.  In his spare time, Tyler pursues environmental 
outreach activities related to filmmaking, photography, and art. Most recently, he was invited as an Artist in Residence to explore the sounds of climate change aboard a Barquentine tall ship in the international water 
of Svalbard.
