Reflection Activities: Reflect on a lesson or unit of study

A few ideas for encouraging students to reflect on their learning before, during or after a unit or lesson.

  1. Great Expectations
What are your expectations for this unit/lesson? Write a short paragraph or bullet
points about what you hope to gain from this activity.
  2. Ah Ha!
Record an “Ah ha!” moment that you have had during this unit/lesson. These thoughts
often hit at unexpected times like when you are sleeping, or driving, or in the
shower! It might be something new that you have learned, or a different way to
think about something you have known, or an application you thought of while
listening to a presenter, or an exciting synergy you want to develop.
  3. I used to think…but now I know…
Using the sentence model “I used to think…but now I know…”, write a statement
about something you have learned in this unit/lesson that has changed from what you
    used to think.
  4. 3-2-1
    3 things you learned
    2 things you will use
